Recently,a French customer asked us to participate in the bidding project with her company. After careful study of the bidding requirements,it is found that the owners have high requirements for welding technology, and clear standards for seam welding and girth welding are put forward. So what is seam welding?
Seam welding refers to the continuous weld which passes between two rotating disc electrodes (rollers) to form a welding joint before and after lapping. It uses disc electrodes instead of spot welding cylindrical electrodes to move relative to the workpiece.Mainly used for welding of oil drums, canned automobile fuel tanks, etc. The welding parts are assembled into overlap or oblique butt joints and placed between the two roller electrodes. The roller presses the welding parts and rotates, continuously or intermittently delivering electricity to form a continuous weld, which is called seam welding.Seam welding is a kind of welding method that uses a pair of disc electrodes instead of spot welding cylindrical electrodes to move relative to the workpiece, thus producing a sealed weld with overlapping nuggets.Seam welding is widely used in thin plate welding of oil drums, cans, heaters, aircraft and automobile fuel tanks,as well as sealed containers in jet engines, rockets and missiles.
