Stainless steel pipe is divided into two kinds: seamed stainless steel pipe and seamless stainless steel pipe. The difference between them is mainly shown in the following aspects:
1.In terms of wall thickness, concentricity:
Seamless stainless steel pipe is made by punching a hole in a stainless steel billet at high temperatures, and then by punching, tensile molding. The seamless stainless steel pipe produced in this way has relatively uneven wall thickness and high eccentricity. Seamed stainless steel pipe is made from cold-rolled stainless steel plate. Because the tolerance of cold rolled stainless steel plate is small, the seam stainless steel pipe produced in this way has a smaller tolerance of wall thickness and a higher concentricity.
2.In terms of welding performance:
In terms of the chemical composition of steel, the steel used to produce the welded stainless steel pipe contains more conducive to welding chemical composition, such as sulfur, silicon, manganese, oxygen and other chemical elements. But seamless stainless steel pipes lack these chemicals. Therefore, the seamed stainless steel pipe’s welding is more stable and the welding line is more tight.

3.In terms of grain size of metal:
In general, seamed stainless steel pipes and seamless stainless steel pipes after annealing, their metal grain size makes the same. However, if the seamed stainless steel tube is subjected to minimal cooling treatment, the metal grains of its welding line will become smaller.
