Floating production, storage, and unloading equipment is a high-end large-scale offshore engineering equipment for extracting marine oil and gas resources. It can achieve the extraction, processing, storage, export, and power generation of offshore oil, natural gas, and other energy sources, and is known as an “offshore oil and gas processing plant”. “Offshore Oil 123” is a floating production, storage and unloading device of 100000 deadweight tons, with a length of 241.5 meters, a width of 45.2 meters, a depth of 25.4 meters, and a mooring center depth of approximately 236 meters. The deck area is equivalent to the size of 1.5 standard football fields.

As a new intelligent FPSO in China, the main difference between “Offshore Oil 123” and conventional FPSO lies in its high degree of intelligence. It is the first new FPSO in China to apply cloud computing, Big data, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, edge computing and other digital technologies, which will lay a solid foundation for the intellectualization of oil and gas production and operation after being put into production.
It is understood that various production data on the “Offshore Oil 123” site are collected through more than 8000 data collection points to the self-developed on-site data center – the “Sea Elf” edge data center. After preprocessing the data, it is transmitted to the land intelligent control center through the sea land communication link. This can achieve comprehensive perception, real-time collection, and intelligent decision-making of offshore production data, and comprehensively improve the intelligent operation level of oil and gas production facilities.
“Offshore Oil 123” is the first FPSO to obtain intelligent symbol certification from China Classification Society. After delivery, it will be towed to Lufeng 12-3 Oilfield in the the Pearl River Mouth Basin sea area by a main tugboat and an auxiliary tugboat to dock with the underwater anchor chain system. The operating depth of the Lufeng 12-3 oilfield is about 240 meters, with a total of 13 wells. The main production facilities include “Offshore Oil 123” and a deep-water jacket platform. It is expected that the peak daily crude oil production will reach 29500 barrels after being put into operation in the second half of this year, becoming a new growth pole for China’s offshore oil and gas production.
