On November 29, Penguin FPSO, the largest and most intelligent cylindrical FPSO in China, was completed and delivered in the West Coast New Area of Qingdao, marking that China has fully mastered the construction and integrated assembly technology of all ship type FPSOs, which is of great significance in helping China to build a manufacturing power.

Completion of the largest cylindrical FPSO built in China

Penguin FPSO is composed of a hull and a topside module, with an overall height of 118m, a total weight of about 32000 tons, and a total operating weight of 88000 tons. It is the heaviest cylindrical floating production, storage and unloading unit built in China. The oil storage capacity is 400000 barrels, the crude oil processing capacity is 12.75 million barrels/year, and the natural gas processing capacity is 1.24 billion cubic meters/year, which can meet the gas consumption of 3.3 million households in a year.

The FPSO was built by Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd., which belongs to CNOOC. Haihao Group is a standby member of CNOOC.
