EN 10204 certificate is for steel products,it states the test result is consistent with the requirements of orders.There are two types of certificates,EN 10204-3.1 and EN 10204-3.2.

EN 10204-3.1 certificate

If a metal material mill with ISO 9001 is certified by EU certificate authority,it can issue EN 10204-3.1 certificate for customers.If the mill doesn’t have ISO 9001,or not certified by EU certificate authority,it will be not allowed to sign 10204-3.1 certificate,must apply to third party certification for EN 10204-3.2 certificate.

EN 10204-3.2 certificate

The issuing agency of EN 10204-3.2 must be authorized by EU,state that the inspection results are in compliance with the order by test,as the third party.

EN10204-3.2 certificate is to prove to customers that the products meet the European material specification, generally for exports of large equipment,pressure equipment and other products.Their raw material suppliers are required to provide EN10204-3.2 certificate to prove the raw materials used comply with European norms. EN10204 certificate applies to any metal materials,such as steel products,welded parts and other products.

Usually EN10204-3.2 certificate require two types of tests.The first is chemical composition test,the second is mechanical properties test,which including tensile strength,yield strength,hardness test and elongation.In addition,for 16mn,impact test at a low temperature also required.
